Certified where it counts
Secure Care UK is certified by the Association of Certified Training (ACT) as complying with the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) Training Standards. ACT is licensed by the Restraint Reduction Network to certify training services as complying with the RRN Training Standards, and its certification scheme is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) — so our training is certified by a UKAS-accredited certification body, the exact requirement written into the NHS Standard Contract.
We have held ACT certification since April 2023, and more recently became a certified commercial training provider — meaning we are certified not only to train our own crews, but to deliver certified training to other organisations.
This matters because since April 2021 the Care Quality Commission has expected every health and social care service in England to use only training in restrictive practices that is certified as complying with the RRN Training Standards. For NHS-commissioned mental health and learning disability services, certified training is a contractual requirement — and using uncertified training risks a breach of CQC Regulation 18.
