Support for Section 135 / 136
Supporting Right Care Right Person, releasing police officers while we focus on a caring, safe and dignified transfer and care.
We are highly experienced in supporting the police and local authorities in caring for patients detained under Section 135 or 136 of the Mental Health Act – releasing officers quickly to return to front line duty while we focus on a caring, dignified transfer.
Our crews are trained in de-escalation first. By being resourceful and considering alternative options, patients can often be supported to travel voluntarily, without force or the need for restraint.
A significant proportion of our work is the care of patients under Section 135 or 136, alongside observation and care in Places of Safety.
